30% HEAT LOSS
for poorly insulated Irish Homes

Poorly insulated Irish homes lose up to 30% of their heat through the roof. However, in just one day, we can fix that for you – and the Government will pay you to have this done! You can now get a standalone grant from the SEAI to have your attic properly insulated. The grant could be worth as much as 80% of the cost of the work.

About us

The Insulation Specialists

Heat will always try to move from where it is hotter to where it is colder. It can pass easily through walls, floors and roofs that have not been properly insulated. Insulation works as a barrier to stop or slow down the transfer of heat. It keeps a home warmer in the winter and cooler in summertime.

Discover a new level of comfort with an energy-saving, money-saving, insulation upgrade. We offer a free survey of your attic. We will provide you with a quotation and will answer any questions you may have about the work or the grant offered by SEAI.

We can then arrange an installation date that suits you. We carry out the work within 2 to 3 weeks of your order, so you can be warm and cozy this winter!

What we do

7-Step Process

1

100mm of insulation between the joists.
If your house is over 20 years old, we probably need to replace the insulation installed by the construction company when the house was built.

2

200mm over joists
We then install a further 200mm of insulation at right-angles to the joists. Together, the 300mm of insulation will achieve the u-value of 0.16 that is required for the grant.

3

Tank insulation
We then need to insulate your cold water tank to ensure it doesn’t freeze during cold weather

4

Pipes insulation
Like the tank, we need to insulate any water pipes that are not already protected by the main insulation layers.

5

Install downlight caps
If you have downlights in your upstairs ceiling, we need to ensure that they don’t come into direct contact with the insulation to ensure we abide by fire regulations. We do this by
installing protective covers that separate the lights from the insulation.

6

Build a walkway to the water tanks.
For safety reasons, we need to construct a walkway between the attic hatch and the water tanks. This will allow for maintenance work on the tanks to be carried out safely.

7

Insulated hatch
We then need to ensure that your attic hatch is not a weak spot in keeping the heat in the living area of your house. We do this by fixing high-specification insulation to the back of the hatch cover and by making it draught proof using seals and catches.

Why is the government offering such generous grants?

Reduction in CO2 emissions

In 2018, Ireland had the third worst emissions of greenhouse gases per person in the EU. In fact our emissions were 53% higher than the EU average of 8.2 tonnes. Insulating our homes properly means our home stays warm for longer. The boiler is on for less time meaning you are burning less fuel and therefore you are lowering emissions.

Stay warm this winter and save money!
