Attic Insulation Service

Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Meath
Did you know that homes with a poorly insulated attic can lose up to 30% of heat through the roof? If your home was built before 2011, and you have a poorly insulated attic, you could qualify for an insulation grant from the SEAI. It is a standalone grant for insulating attics that could cover as much as 80% of the costs.

Find out more below, or contact us, to start the process of applying for the grant and getting your roof better insulated. We provide the service to homes, apartments, and bungalows across Dublin, Wicklow, Meath (and all of Leinster).

About Us

The Attic Insulation Specialists

Heat will always try to move from where it is hotter to where it is colder. It can pass easily through walls, floors and roofs that have not been properly insulated. Insulation works as a barrier to stop or slow down the transfer of heat. It keeps a home warmer in the winter and cooler in summertime.

Discover a new level of comfort with an energy-saving, money-saving, insulation upgrade to your attic. We offer a free survey of your attic, everywhere in Leinster, regardless if you stay in Dublin, Wicklow, Meath, or Carlow. We will provide you with a quotation and will answer any questions you may have about the work or the grant offered by SEAI to get your attic insulated.

We can then arrange an installation date that suits you. We carry out the work within 2 to 3 weeks of your order, so you can be warm and cosy this winter!
Dan and the team from Warm Homes were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They were quick to respond and were very helpful in explaining the process. Highly recommend if you’re looking to get your loft insulated.

What we do

7-Step Attic Insulation Process
1

100mm of insulation between the roof joists.

If your house is over 20 years old, we probably need to replace the attic insulation installed by the construction company when the house was built.
2

200mm over joists

We then install a further 200mm of insulation at right-angles to the roof joists. Together, the 300mm of insulation will achieve the u-value of 0.16 that is required for the grant.
3

Water Tank insulation

We then need to insulate your cold water tank to ensure it doesn’t freeze during cold weather.
4

Roof pipe insulation

Like the tank in your roof, we need to insulate any water pipes that are not already protected by the main insulation layers.
5

Install downlight caps

If you have downlights in your upstairs ceiling, we need to ensure that they don’t come into direct contact with the insulation to ensure we abide by fire regulations. We do this by
installing protective covers that separate the lights from the attic insulation.
6

Build a walkway to the water tanks.

For safety reasons, we need to construct a walkway in your roof between the attic hatch and the water tanks. This will allow for maintenance work on the tanks to be carried out safely.
7

Insulated attic hatch

We then need to ensure that your attic hatch is not a weak spot in keeping the heat in the living area of your house. We do this by fixing high-specification insulation to the back of the hatch cover and by making it draught proof using seals and catches.

Attic Insulation – Is It Worth It?

Yes! Getting your attic insulated can reduce your home’s heat loss by up to 30%. It is one of the most cost-effective ways of insulating your home. Attic insulation will improve your home’s comfort levels, reduce your monthly heating bills, and it can even help keep your home cooler on a hot summer’s day.

Find out how we can help you get the grant and insulate your attic regardless where in Leinster you stay - whether it be Dublin, Wicklow, Meath, or Kilkenny.

Who can apply for insulation grants?

Why is the government offering such generous insulation grants?

Reduction in CO2 emissions
In 2018, Ireland had the third worst emissions of greenhouse gases per person in the EU. In fact our emissions were 53% higher than the EU average of 8.2 tonnes. Insulating our attics properly means our home stays warm for longer. The boiler is on for less time, meaning you are burning less fuel and therefore you are lowering emissions.
